Country Comfort: NoFo Pot Pies Country Market

Since moving to Long Island and settling into life on the North Fork, I've been trying out many new places. One of my favorite restaurants so far has been Cooperage Inn in Calverton. This restaurant gives off cozy vibes as it is a cabin decorated like you are at your grandmother's house. They serve all different types of comfort food such as pot roast, mashed potatoes, pasta, soups, and much more. But what they are known for is their homemade pot pies. While this restaurant is far from my house, my family and I make the trip often to pick up a pot pie for dinner. That is why I was so excited to hear about them opening a market closer to home.

Eager to explore, I visited NoFo Pot Pies Country Market in Mattituck. This market brings the flavors of their famous pot pies - available in chicken, seafood, turkey, short rib, chicken marsala, and vegetables right to your doorstep.

Stepping into NoFo Pot Pies, I immediately noticed the various freezers filled with various frozen meals and gourmet items. I was shocked by the amount of food they stored in such a small store. Apart from their signature pot pies, the market has a range of options including homemade soups, prepared meals like stuffed chicken breasts and lasagnas, and a selection of desserts, including fruit pies - a spin-off of their savory pot pies.

I decided to purchase their chicken pot pie and breaded chicken tenders. Additionally, having enjoyed their penne vodka pasta at Cooperage Inn, I couldn't resist buying a jar of their vodka sauce to recreate one of my favorite dishes at home.Back home, I wasted no time in preparing dinner. I put the chicken pot pie into the oven, eagerly awaiting its golden crust and savory filling. Meanwhile, my mom and I boiled some pasta shells and tossed them with NoFo Pot Pies' vodka sauce. We also made meatballs to have with the pasta. The aroma that filled my kitchen was similar to the smell of the restaurant, and I was excited for my delicious meal ahead.

As I began to eat, the savory pot pie and creamy penne vodka made me feel like I was eating right in the restaurant. The pot pie was rich with tender chicken and vegetables, along with a flakey buttery crust that melted in my mouth. The pasta and meatballs, coated in vodka sauce, had the perfect blend of tangy tomato and creamy richness.

Not only did NoFo Pot Pies Country Market exceed my expectations with their delicious pot pies, but also with their wide range of gourmet foods that made eating at home an easy and enjoyable experience. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty pot pie or want to try making restaurant favorites like penne vodka pasta at home, this market offers quality and taste in every dish.

Overall, exploring the North Fork continues to be a fun experience. As I settle into life on Long Island, I look forward to uncovering more local treasures and sharing my experiences with fellow food enthusiasts.
