Dining on the Bay: Waypoint Restaurant in Southold

In the charming town of Southold, Waypoint Restaurant offers a unique dining experience that blends elegance with a laid-back coastal vibe. With its location overlooking the bay, this restaurant provides a perfect spot for those seeking both high-end food and breathtaking views. Each dish is crafted to highlight the freshest local ingredients, and the quality of the food justifies the higher price point of this restaurant. As previously mentioned in my other blog posts, Southold restaurants tend to be on the higher end of prices, but this restaurant is well worth the money.

During my visit with my family, we decided to sit outdoors and experience the breathtaking view ourselves. For dinner, my dad had the Lobster Ravioli, which was rich and delicious. The pasta was handmade with a generous filling of lobster meat that pairs nicely with a creamy, savory sauce. The Grilled Skirt Steak was the dish I got. The steak was cooked to perfection with a charred exterior and a juicy, flavorful interior. It came with roasted potatoes and broccolini. My sister got the Shrimp Pomodoro, which offered a combination of shrimp and a zesty tomato sauce, served over a bed of pasta. Another dish that impressed us was the Local Caught Fluke, which my mom got. It had a light lemony sauce that did not overpower the taste of the fresh fish.

Waypoint Restaurant also features live music, which added to the enjoyable dining experience. Additionally, the restaurant had an outdoor bar that's a perfect spot to sip on a refreshing cocktail or glass of wine while taking in the atmosphere.

In terms of reservations, they are not required. But given the restaurant’s popularity, especially on weekends, it’s ideal to have one. 

In summary, Waypoint Restaurant in Southold offers a beautiful dining experience. With its stunning bay views, exceptional food, and lively atmosphere, it’s a destination to remember. While it’s on the pricier side, the quality of the food, the spectacular setting, and the overall experience make it well worth the expense.
